Selected Parkett Artists’ Editions (1984-2013)
Presented by Jacqueline Burckhardt, Bice Curiger and Dieter von Graffenried

August – November, 2013
Opening August 30, 2013, 6-8pm

In the new exhibition at the Parkett Space in Zürich, works selected from the 220 Parkett Editions to date enter into a lively exchange on the relationship between abstraction and nature. The show presents a playful and compelling dialogue among the works, and viewers will discover astonishing, often unexpected and enlightening relations. For instance, Laura Owens‘ lithograph and the videos created by Diana Thater and Jennifer Allora/ Guillermo Calzadilla meet up with the light of Andro Wekua’s "Black Sea Lamp" and Cerith Wyn Evans‘ neon installation. Doug Aitken‘s shiny silvery kite slices through the atmosphere and Pierre Huyghe‘s melodic edition ushers in meditations on color and shape by Angela Bulloch, Tomma Abts, and Tom Friedman. Works tha t cross the flowing boundary between abstraction and nature in multifarious ways are also on view, as seen in the works of Gabriel Orozco, Yayoi Kusama, Beatriz Milhazes, Matthew Ritchie, Franz Ackermann, Franz Gertsch, Nan Goldin, Thomas Ruff, Oscar Tuazon, and Sue Williams.
